The Silvergate Inn was founded on the principle that all of Elanthia's citizens ... no matter their age, occupation, religious affiliation or social status ... should have a comfortable, beautiful home. Since then, over 3,000 Elanthians have made the Silvergate Inn their home.
The Inn is unique amongst Elanthian houses; not only is it a private House requiring membership to enter, but nearly half of the space of the building is a public Inn which is open to all of Elanthia. The Inn is Located in the southwest corner (go path) of Wehnimer's Landing. In addition, there are annexes in each of the other towns. The the Inn provides many services to the public. There is a full-service dining room with delicious food and drink available for reasonable prices, a pub with free ale and five private, noded tables for relaxing and conversations, five private guest rooms with latches that can be rented for quiet evenings, a ballroom with dancing which is available to rent for parties and receptions and an assemblied public Performance Hall.
The private areas of the Inn are accessed through the oak door in the Foyer, and provide members with all of the necessities, as well as the niceities, of life in Elanthia. The noded private lounge provides both a place to relax and recuperate, as well as to enjoy the company of other members. A bar with free food and drink provide a tasty repast. Through the arch in the lounge, members can enter the magnificent private courtyard, which boasts five noded private tables.
Each member has the use of a baseline 40-item locker. The Inn's Armory was the first of its kind in Elanthia, and members can use it to donate items to others, as well as obtain many useful things that have been left. Upstairs from the lounge are a series of rooms for your use. These are too numerous to list, however some rooms to look for include the bath through the marble door, the library through the oak door, the sitting room through the ivory door, and be sure to find Mistyrose's playroom just for fun. The house magic workshop is well hidden.
Politically, House Silvergate is an autocracy, run as a sole proprietorship by the Lord of the Manor, Lord Enegue LionHeart. The House is run with fairness and openness, and indeed is one of the more politically stable Houses in the Lands: of the older Houses, Silvergate is the only one which has kept the same House Chairman since its inception.
House Silvergate is also a leader in Wehnimer's social life. The annual Winter Gala has become a town tradition, and Silvergate has hosted concerts, classes and other events for the public. There are also many activities scheduled for House members.
